- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.
- Spread the apple pie filling evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Drizzle caramel sauce evenly over the apples, letting it seep into the filling.
- Sprinkle the dry spice cake mix evenly over the apple and caramel layers. Do not stir.
- Slowly pour the melted butter over the cake mix, trying to cover as much of it as possible.
- Sprinkle chopped walnuts on top for added crunch, if using.
- Bake for 50–55 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the filling bubbles at the edges.
- Let it cool for at least 15 minutes before serving to help it set.
Notes
Try swapping walnuts for pecans, or skip the nuts altogether. For a gluten-free or vegan version, use compliant cake mix and caramel. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
